An example of a behavioral adaptation is animals migrating to a warmer climate. An adaptation is a genetic change, called a mutation, that makes an organism better able to live in its environment. A mutation is passed down over the generations until it becomes part of the species. There are two kinds of adaptations, structural and behavioral. Both organisms to survive. A structural adaptation is a physical change in an organism, while a behavioral adaptation is a change in behavior.
